Anatomy of a Birthday

Thank you for the phone calls, the cards and for making it such a memorable day, my precious family and friends.

Although it wasn't in celebration of my birthday, part of it was spent here at Hullabaloos. The smile on Luke's face as he came down the gigantic bouncy slide was the best present of all time.

Angie, this is the spider I saw when I freaked out on the phone with you this afternoon. He has this sort of radioactive glow! Look how massive he is:

Saris and Potty Talk

Potty training two at the same time. Now there's an experience for you. Let's just say, "mountains of laundry". Big girl panties and undies coming out my ears. Not literally, but you know. Never dreamed I'd love sweet potty successes as much as I do -- seeing those little faces light up.

I'm thinking of doing infant potty training with the next (as recommended by Drea - her little Taite is trained at not quite nine months). An idea...

We had Cuban tonight - black beans and rice and have you ever tried to fry bananans? Brown in two tbsp. butter and top with brown sugar. A nice tasty Cuban-style side.

Crock pot and flips

Leila with "flipped" hair. I can't believe how grown up she's starting to look.

Luke with his new Boden shirt. My new favorite clothing place for little people, big people and tiny people.

V is for Vaseline Vandal

The Vaseline would account for the blinding sheen:

Of course, the first thing I did was immediately reach for the camera.

Happy Grandparents Day Nana and Papa, Nan and Grand Dad Bill. Love, Luke and Leila

T is for Temperature and Tennis

Proof that we've been scorching here in *temperate southern Cal*:
What' up with that?
And look at the time.
It's not even the hottest part of the day.
It's four pm!
Thankfully it's cooled down a little from Monday, when this was taken.
Leila and I've since been to the beach and actually froze our patusies so there ya go.

With a view to work his way through all ball-related sports, we're now on to tennis.
Rob's even set his sights on the club.

One of my *goals* is to learn to play tennis once the kids are
sufficiently occupied with school and such.
Considering the third is due 7 months from now...that might be a while.

Okay, check out the shorts. What did I tell you? Every. Day.
