::no more late fees::

A post on this unbelievably well-written blog reminded me of ...

Spicy, Savvy Sanity Saver 2 ~ Good riddance blockbuster. Hello Netflix. Reasons:
  • You don't have to leave your house;
  • You can change your queue at any time;
  • They have really cool movies and not just mainly Hollywood Blockbusters;
  • It's cheaper;
  • You can keep the films as long as you want;
  • Gives you the option of possibly considering ditching cable (with kids, for us, planning to watch any thing at a given time was impossible);
  • You get movies in the mail! What more need I say?
Recommendation: you'll probably want to sign up for at least the 3 or 4 movie rotation or you may have quite a few gaps in your viewing.

Hey, girlie!!!

This is a fabulous idea...as is the spinach in applesauce..I never would have thought of that!!!

I have NO sanity savers at the moment...but I will ponder...I must do something that is sanity saving and out of the ordinary!!!

That is a great idea! I have 2 movies due to Blockbuster right now & no desire to get out in the freezing weather to take them back. I'm going to netflix right now!!!

I like the sanity saver idea...I'm thinking!

Hi Gina,
You know I absolutely cannot stand Blockbuster. I grew up in Charlotte, NC area, and the main sources of video rental places around were Block Busters or Hollywood Videos. Both were ridiculously priced!

When we moved to Ohio... we were amazed to find this video store called Family Video (its so close to us I can walk through our backyard and our neighbors yard and be there without crossing any streets).
You can get all movies besides new release ones for 1 dollar or two for one dollar. All kid movies are free.
Also... new release ones are only 2 dollars!

You cant beat that.
At blockbuster I'd spend 5 dollars for a new release movie in NC. That was insane. I may as well buy it if I spend that much for one day.

I will give you some warning about netflix though. We got it for 2 months after we moved to Ohio... Our main reason for getting it was because Travis wanted to watch season 3 of the TV show "24"... the movie store had seasons 1 and 2 but not 3. So we got netflix to finish things before season 4 started.

It wasnt worth the money though for us. We did the 2 movies a week rental deal... for 14.99 a month. They promised us you'd get like 4 movies a week with this. Yea right.
We'd get our movie on Mondays... return it by Tuesday... and would not get the new set in until friday or saturday... When that happened we werent able to turn in the other movies til monday... then we wouldnt get the new ones til thursday. Make sense?
So we were only getting like 2 movies a week... Was a complete pain.

Sometimes Id have my movie list pending... and they'd send me the wrong movie... meaning: We are watching a season of TV shows... they'd send me disc 5 before disc 4... which made no sense what so ever.

Now maybe delivery was slow for us because we dont live in a large city... but even my brother who still lives in Charlotte, NC had the same issues..

But who knows maybe it will work for you :-)
And yes the best part was you didnt have to worry with late fees.
Im awful w/ late fees. Thankfully since we moved all I got to do is get Travis to run through our yard and throw the movie in a box before midnight haha.
