By the Water (on the Tin and in Southend)

It struck me today how sweet it was that Rob stores his tea in this tin that he brought from his hometown to America.

A few snapshots of Southend-on-Sea, England.

it is sweet and I'm sure it bring home a little closer for him...is Southend near Bournemouth? I have been there a couple of times and have friends there.
I can't imagine making a new land my own...it would be hard...but then you and the kids are his home now. BTW how is his mum?

Thank you for asking Cheryl. She's doing much better with the cancer. In fact the doctors were amazed. The cancer literally seemed to have disappeared. Ovarian cancer doesn't usually do that. (Or any for that matter!) But she does still have some issues with her circulation in her leg and her heart in general so she hasn't been able to come out yet. But she is still hoping for this summer nonetheless.

You know, I'm not sure where Bournemouth is but Southend is about 50 mile Southeast of London. It's a commuter town to London, on the water. Real sweet little town.

I think it's nice to have little ties to another time, another place, that means something...

I didn't know your husband was from England .. it must be fun(ny) comparing childhood memories - all the foods and slang names for everything .. all different .. so cute ! :)
