N is for Neighborhood

What I love about ours.
  • We have the best neighbors in the whole world. The ones on our right we never hear and the ones on our left are like a sweet uncle and aunt to Luke and Leila and already dear friends to us. They've sent over gifts for the children, home-made cakes, the most amazing Christmas baskets and just last week, 16 flower seedlings in pots:

What a touching gift.
(Not that it's all about gifts of course -- they truly are the best.)
  • Our city as a whole has huge plans for growth, lofts being built, roads widened and beautification aplenty.
  • Our street has over hanging trees that provide just enough shade.
  • Most of the houses on our street were built in the 20's.
  • Our city has an interesting history and a pretty fun new art district.
  • Our city is still about the cheapest in insanely expensive OC.
What are your favorite things about your neighborhood?

Sounds like a great place!

Home is wherever the army send us. We built this home and moved here last summer. It is a great family neighborhood. We have one of the few homes with trees. It backs up to a wooded area, and I love that! Even with Mike deployed, I feel safe here. This isn't our dream home by any means, but it gives an opportunity to try out things we like.

wow, sounds like a wonderful place to live! what i love about my neighborhood is that at the end of the street is an entrance into the metroparks, there are lots of big old trees on the street, all the neighbors we've met in the past 3 yr.s we've beeen here have been kind and helpful, and our street is being repaved next summer!

I love our neighbors too! We are surrounded by the greatest neighbors...all of whom have children in ages that sandwich my son...GREAT playmates.

We meet in the street for afternoon conversations becuase we all get back home around the same time. Our kids get in those cute little pools together and splash around.

We have little get-togethers to bond.

We have great trees and beautiful yards and everyone takes pride in how our street looks, so everyone works together to get things taken care of.

AND we live in a "closed" neighborhood - one way in, one way out, one big loop...we live at the back, so our kids can rid their bikes in the street and play kick ball without having to worry about cars..

Sounds like the perfect neigborhood! I think your neigbors are the best. :-)

My neighbor is my age and she has two young children as well. She's become one of my very best friends. She's a sahm as well so we have a lot in common!

My neighborhood is wonderful. Everyone is friendly and there are always people outside in their yards, kids playing and people riding up and down the streets in golf carts! Everyone has a golf cart!! It's really kind of funny. Ours is lime green. :-)

The favorite things in my neighborhood is the fellowship, closeness, and life of Christ that is some how visible (and a testament) to others.

sounds like a great neighborhood! I like that our neighborhood is very multicultural...and we have trees and grass aplenty too..we're not in the country but it is certainly away from the bustle of the big city...I like our pool and our friendly neighbors....I like our sidewalks...walking around the block is nice, even with Jada. We're also close to good shopping and nice schools...its a busy growing area but we still have a lot of house for the money...lots of things to enjoy.
