Smoke and hopes are lifting.

Your prayers and well wishes have been so appreciated. We are perfectly safe and sound -- the fires didn't come near.

Glad to know you weren't affected. My brother was on a buisness trip working just minutes from the blaze. It was on a military base, and they almost evacuated. He left work every day covered in soot.
