It's O'fish

Monkey Moon Photo is now online.
My website is up.
I'm live!

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Luke is out of school today.
We all have colds.
So there was lots of outdoor play.
I'm working on taxes as the children nap.
My afternoon cup of coffee is brewing.
Mmmm.
Quiet.
I might even have a piece of chocolate.
A box came in the mail today.
A very lovely box indeed.
More later.
Tata for now.

Sunday at the Beach

It's been in the 80's here
so we headed to the beach this weekend.
There was hardly anyone there.

Here I am with my little squinter.

And here Rob is with him on top of the sand mountain we found.

What could be more fun than a sand mountain when you're six?
we also spent time running toward the sea with abandon

drawing shapes in the sand with human pencils
(ie: our children)

and grabbing camera-in-arm-extended shots
with a little bit of sunshine.

Something very exciting is happening this week...
stay tuned.

Wednesday's Photo Shoot

Add Image
Okay, so I can't stay away.
I have a relationship with this little blog.
Here are a few shots from a shoot I did on Wednesday afternoon.
This little guy was such a trooper.
Check out his amazing eyes!
I think I'm days away from a new website and
photo blog...very exciting.

Oh, Rob will be going to Bangledesh, Tanzania and Nirobi for work in March.
Oh my.
*gulp*

Will you be mine?

New teeth

I'll spare you the photos of
what the flu looks like close up.
The laundry that is marginally better
than the nausea.
That's nice of me?
But we have new curtains and
More teeth!
Love,
g

Healthy Dose of Realism

Luke said "I want ball" at least 1792 times today.
Yes he's talking some and yes that's great.
But he was actually bouncing the ball most of the time he was saying it.

No sitter to call on today so we'll be going to the doc
first thing tomorrow morning.
Liam has been sick.
Meanwhile my sexy husband

went to the store to stock up on pedialyte just in case.

We don't usually give many toys to the kids for birthday's, Christmas, Valentine's, etc.
Usually their gifts are almost always books.
But we do have a couple of little (or cheap) toys for them to open.
Sad isn't it?
(Oh, it's not so bad, they're spoiled rotten by Nana and Papa
and aunts and uncles.)
But this year, this princess castle $7 yardsale find may have been one of the bigger hits.

Now in her room, it doubles as the perfect reading spot.
Night all,

This is my Photoshopped Blog

Our pastor this weekend was talking about
all the beautiful Christmas cards he'd received this year.
Touched up with Photoshop.
Gorgeous families which bear no resemblance to
the real thing.
This is my Photoshopped blog.
I can't say it bears NO resemblance to my life.
These truly are my children and this is my house.
But I am a Photoshop junkie.
And Todd's message was much deeper.
(We're all broken. We can come to Christ broken.
He came to seek and save those who were lost.
Not those who were 'religious'.)
But I started thinking about various levels
of 'realness'.
This year I want to be a little more ...human.
That sounds funny.
I mean, letting everyone know we have
...stuff.
With a little bit of Photoshop mixed in.

I'll start with *real* unedited footage of Leila last year.
I love that she says, "I want you to go with me" at the end.

I hope she always wants me to go with her.

2008: The Year In a Ridiculous Number of Photos

I attempted crepes this morning.
They were a hit with Leila.
Robert seemed to think they weren't half bad.
They are really easy.
And festive.
Stuff them with mixed berries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
And Leila is a foodie.
She is always wanting a "snack".
While most kids her age can tend to be a little on the finicky side,
Leila loves to eat.
I was starting to be a little concerned
when only the other night she said,
"Can I have some of that good
peanut butter so I can feel the texture in my mouth."

First Day

Leila thought Liam was lacking in the accessory department.
Nothing a blue head band can't solve

apparently.
