Overexposed? I Choose to See it as a Lighting Effect....*sigh*

Luke with the nice fireman.

We Never Quite Figured Out Who the Cat Was Supposed to Be

So Luke called him "cat" and up for having his picture taken with him.
Leila was scared of his yellow eyes...with good cause.

About 30 minutes into Treats in the Streets Leila said, "I'd like to go home."
So that was that.
Here she is as Fancy Nancy along with Shevchenko and Garden Gnome.
Traveling tomorrow.
Up at 4:30! ekkk.

A Photo and a Story

My Friday Photo story is that I don't have a picture of my Garden Gnome, Fancy Nancy and Andriy Mykolayovych Shevchenko because I had the camera on the craziest of settings and they were all overexposed (ie: white). So that's why you're seeing a picture of Liam in a swing. Can I salvage them even the teensiest bit?
I'm off to see...

Personality? Check.

Leila, after our rather long walk today: "Mommy, my legs are dizzy."

And here as sudsy face with self-applied hair 'clippies'.
Heated political debates in our home.
Let's leave it at that, shall we? Trust me, you want to say "yes, let's".
Sense of foreboding at what is to come.
But why?
I'm glad my sweet Jesus sits on the throne.
Sweet dreams!

Bullets

  • Second photo shoot is in the works. My goal is to be completely up and shooting by the first of the year (website, laptop, lenses, the whole nine...). I have a bazillion cards but don't want to pass them out until the site is looking tip top.
  • A little bit of drool coming your way with love:
  • I feel a sense of accomplishment when I go with the homemade costumes rather than the store bought variety. Then you can use your noggin to come up with really creative ideas like an Oompa Loompa (right, Katie?) or shred a cloth diaper to make the beard for a garden gnome (Liam). Should be interesting.
  • Another park find! As most of you know, I'm giddy about my PARK FINDS! And this one has DUCKS! And a POND! and lots of green plants. We found ourselves at the Fullerton Arboretum passing delicious time last week.
  • One of the many obligatory punkins on pumpkins pics.
  • Slightly bummed that our church isn't doing Hullabaloo this year (Halloween alternative celebration). We're talking pony rides, face painting, bouncy houses (5 plus), magic shows, food, fun booths and candy, candy, candy. It's a great outreach for neighborhood families but when the church is one million under budget costs have to be cut. So it's Treats in the Streets and ole' fashioned trick or treating.
  • Five days and we'll be in sweet Carolina.
  • A little insanity for you if your stomach can take it. Viewer discretion advised. Please be sure your children are not around your computer.

Again in Color

A few more expressive images
from the day I took advantage of my neighbor's backyard
and used it as a backdrop:

He's already pulling up AND STANDING...
today it was by Leila's bed

and by the living room chair yesterday.
What will probably be the last of my babies,

will soon be walking.
And while I'm tickled to see him so pleased with himself.

I'm a little bit sad.
Stay little, baby boy.

Watch Until The Very End

Quite possibly the most moving footage I've ever seen.
You must see.
I saw it on Drea's site
and I cried.

"Head on over to this beautiful auction designed just for Carol! The doors are open daily for biding and the products are great! Click the beautiful button above to donate, shop and read her story."

I used Best Neighbor on Planet's backyard as a backdrop for a few photos.
Here's one.

I'm Making These for a Luncheon Tomorrow

Hot. Cheese. Bacon.
And only three ingredients.
What more could a girl ask for in a carry-in appetizer?
Night all,

Here's a Linky Post Like You Know and Love and a Cliffhanger Just For An Added Excitment Value

  1. I'm seriously considering a MacBook Pro. Ours has all but stopped (hence the blog slow-down). And I found out they have them at B&H for much less than any where else. A friend in NY is going to help me load on some new programs so I'm stoked. This will hopefully help kick start the business. (Passing out a business card every once in a while might help a little too-- thanks for the tip, Drea!)
  2. I'm thinking of ordering this rug for under our breakfast nook table. There's something soothing about these sea blue colors to me.
  3. Friends don't let friends sign on as clients of C.A.R.D. (Center for Autism Related Disorders). This agency is bad. Very bad. BEWARE. I'm afraid I can't say more but it's almost Halloween so I thought the "beware" would be appropriate regardless.
  4. DSW is having a clearance sale today only.
  5. Oh and I was tagged but the funny thing is now that I can't remember by whom... but here are my answers (thanks in advance for humoring me...)
  6. WHAT IS THE LAST MOVIE YOU SAW IN THE THEATRE: The Women with Meg Ryan and tons of other popular actresses. I loved that I saw it with a girlfriend (thanks, Donna) and that we laughed together at some funny parts and that I hadn't actually been to see a movie in about 4 years so it was like a whole new experience.
  7. WHAT BOOKS ARE YOU READING:
(I know, I'm full of surprises) and Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon
9. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE BOARD GAME: Right now all I can't think of anything beyond Candyland, Memory Game and Don't Spill The Beans. You should see our house. We've got plastic beans everywhere.
FAVORITE MAGAZINES? Hmmm. That's a toughie. Not really a magazine girl but I guess I'd have to say those celeb ones. I know, disgusting. But I get sucked right in at the check out stands. Never buy them but there is no excuse for this behavior. Whatsoever. I think I'd like to sit down with an iced tea in a comfy chair with a thick issue of Southern Living.
Yes, actually that sounds just about right. Off to make some tea. Will finish this meme tomorrow.

Looks like someone doesn't like the baby food beef. Bleech -- can't say I blame him.
Or is he dreading Monday?
Hope yours is delicious!

Today he said, "I want that ball."

So it was a sunshine day.

Five Spots

1. Currant reward system ( Mama bucks are earned by doing chores and being nice to one's brothers and then carried in our pink purse to the Mama Store that is chock full of $1 goodies. That's the idea anyway).

2. I was factinated this afternoon by these mysterious pods growing on the trellis on our garden wall.

3. Someone is riding 12"er with training wheels. "Super fast."

4. I'm catching up with this project starting with week one.

5. Leila is adding the phrase "by any chance?" to the end of some of her questions. As in: "Do you think we could go to the park today, by any chance?"

And visiting yours.
No time to write.
Must skeedaddle.
Love you.

Just in case

yes the sky is falling
and people are losing their homes
and the elections are making us all crazy
and it is frightening and scary
and wow what a weird time to be alive

BUT

just in case

you were wondering

in the midst of all of this

"hmmm.... I wonder what Gina had for lunch..."

there it is folks.

Few Words
